Los Angeles- based artist and musician Marnie Weber creates work that explores the carnivalescque, the bacchanalian, the mystical and the absurd. She created the band Spirit Girls after questioning an absence of women performers on stage at rock concerts. The Spirit Girls' canon crosses over into Weber's performances, films, photographs, and collages. The band represents a group of girls who died in their youth and have returned to earth to communicate through music. Thematic material from this CD repeats in the effigies that are a part of The Ghost Train installation now on display at the Mattress Factory as part of the Factory Installed exhibition.
