The theme of this week is The Thing Quarterly

I really love “The Thing” not only because it’s a clever art project, but also the way they build the special bond with their “subscribers”/viewers, creating lasting expectation on what form of art/object will be shown next. MF shop is proud to carry their issues both online and in the physical shop. Currently, we have Issue 10 by Starlee Kine, a bamboo cutting board with a crying instruction. If you have seen our video, you should know it is an unusual cutting board. Please feel free to email us if you would like to see the future issues we will carry in MF shop.

THE THING QUARTERLY

THE THING Quarterly is a periodical in the form of an object. Each year, four artists, writers, musicians or filmmakers are invited by the editors (Jonn Herschend and Will Rogan) to create a useful object that somehow incorporates text. This object will be reproduced and hand wrapped at a wrapping party and then mailed to the homes of the subscribers.
